Tribal leaders and Friends: We previously announced with pride an American Indian Appreciation Night with the Los Angeles Sparks on August 8 versus the Atlanta Dream with rookie American Indian Shoni Schimmel from the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation. We will have singing and dancing on the basketball court immediately before the game. We will provide a commemorative gifts to the youth. And we are working on a special visit from Shoni. With initial support from the San Manuel Indian Tribe and additional support from Southern California Edison (SCE) we are seeking to have tickets for nearly 300 Indians to attend the game. We are seeking donations so that we can provide tickets to the night for American Indian youth and families. We focus on Indian youth through the Tribal TANF program operated by the Torres-Martinez Tribe. In addition, we focus on Indian youth who are a part of the ICWA system. This not a fundraising effort. All funds are for the purchase of tickets. We realize that many of you do not live in the LA area but please donate so that family or friends might attend or we can provide more tickets to the low income Indian community. We appreciate that the LA Sparks are offering a low ticket price which enable us to provide more tickets to the Indian youth. We will have sponsors for the night identified on the scoreboard throughout the game. If you cannot donate but want to attend the game please contact Romela Kurdoglanyan about our special price. Please join us in honoring Shoni Schimmel to California and honoring her accomplishments and help us show our appreciation to the Sparks, If you need further information please contact Romela Kurdoglanyan whose email is at the end on the flyer or call Ron Andrade at 805-404-1490
