I think, subconsciously, because its torture to watch it over and over and then the sensationalistic way the media discuss it just like theyre doing with Robin Williams. But Russell Brand is reminding us that we need to discuss it as compassionate loving intelligent beings. And keep the focus on the child and how inexcusable that this happened; not on the riots. That just refocuses us on the criminal behavior out of frustration and takes our minds off the child that was killed by cops. The media and the govt and especially the police system do not want us to think about these things. They want us to condemn the looters and dehumanize the people protesting so we all forget the child and ignore the whole story, because then theyd have to change and stop the racism. You get overcome and numb watching the coverage and how inexcusable is it that we become indifferent. Its the coverage; not us. We are mostly good and loving and we do care, dont we?
