Tribute to Denzil Jacobs Denzil you did it for the kids , kids with autism , You put yourself on the line, literally each day for 12 days your body went through the rigours of running 26.2 milles , a journey you embarked on and saw it through to fruition . I guess there were times you doubted your ability to do this challenge but your strong faith and mental strength kept all doubts at bay . There must have been times when your body was aching and muscles were sore and crying out NO More ,, but you were untiring , selfless and relentless in your endeavour to achieve your goal and all for the kids . Intrepiditily each day you braved the start line , always smiling and greeting fellow particiants who came to join you on part of your journey ,, making them feel comfortable and at ease no matter what distance they were setting off on , ,this journey took you through Carlow ,Kilkenny , Wexford , Wicklow ,Westmeath, Longford , Kildare , Louth , Meath , Dublin , Laois , and Finally Tullamore in Offaly ,, Obviously all this took careful planning and working out logistics , and with the help of your back up crew, your loving family and friends it all came together and Denzils 12 In 12became your extended family for all of the twelve days , they were your cushion ,, you tower of strength ,, and your guiding light when you may have had dark doubts , Denzil I feel I can speak on behaf of all your fellow runners , your supporters , everyone who donated whether it be through text messges , online donations ,, giving off their time ,, the people who helped in the back ground or up front on route every day , the suppliers of all the lovely goodies we partook of each day ,, I want to say it was an absolute pleasure to be part of your journey and be part of an event which will only go to improve the lives of children with Autism , Denzil we are all in awe of you and have total respect for your wonderful spirit and courage in undertaking such a strenous challenge which you done with style and tenacity , , you are a real inspiration and role model , father , husband and an amazing person . You are also a very modest man and will hate all accolades attributed to you ,, but I feel you deserve it all and please rest in the knowledge that we have total admiration for you and what you have achieved over the past twelve days , you are part of a very elite group of people who have the ability to do what you done and the in the gentlemanly way you did it Final Quote What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived it . it is what difference we have made to lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead Denzil we raise a glass of cheer to you ,, long may you run ,,
