Tried my modded camera (no baader filter) on Orion nebula to see - TopicsExpress

Tried my modded camera (no baader filter) on Orion nebula to see the changes on the AP I take... Well, quite... impressive... Fire Nebula and Horsehead Nebula are now more visible and the Orion Nebula got more red compared to my previous shots. (Now my problem is dust in sensor as I replaced it with clear glass) This photo is taken with the modded 350D, 10 X 5 exposures (50 total), ISO1600 @ 135mm:F4.5 on a cheap camera tripod and hastily processed (well all I want is to see the changes after all right?) in Adobe PS4 and Systemax Sai. PS... Just wondering, is it normal that after you removed the IR filter, things seems off focus even if I used the AF? The second shot (18mm:F3.5) shows what I mean... The hanged towel is clear but my subject is the blue roof... But as you can see its not clear. this is the same with my zoom lens (75 - 300mm) when using the 75mm (which is why I used 135mm in my test AP, but the focus seems also off when i use the AF)
