Trigger warning: graphic violence According to the naive West Islam has nothing to do with terrorism. But a journalist in Pakistan, Mushtaq Yusufzai. is asking if Islam allows this kind of barbarity where school children are beheaded and teachers burnt alive, merely for going to school. Yes, Islam does allow this. The Taliban does not approve of education that does not focus solely on Quranic studies. The fact that he questions Islam would single him out as an apostate should he study the Hadith. In fact, Boko Haram means ‘Forbidden Books’ [Book Haram] and the naming of the terrorist group was a direct reference to ‘unIslamic’ international education that is not focused on the Quran. It is the education of the kuffar – that supposedly corrupts and misleads Muslims. Why would the Pakistani journalist question Islam if terrorism has no association with Islam? He asks the most sensible question to his culture and society because terrorism is solely based on the ideology to force Islamic law onto societies where fighters feel it is not rigid enough. It’s odd how the media picks and chooses what stories they want to portray as the most shocking and in need to attention. When 150,000 Christians got starved, tortured, massacred, hung on hooks in human slaughter houses by devout Sunni Muslims opposing President Assad’s rule, they somehow did not feel it was important enough to bring any attention to. Instead, they took the terrorist side and tried to glorify terrorism, portraying it as some bizarre interpretation of a ‘desire for democracy’. ‘Does Islam allow this?’ Peshawar massacre: a father’s story themuslimissue.wordpress/2014/12/17/pakistan-does-islam-really-allow-this-i-asked-myself/
