Trip 6 2014 The lads from the sunny coast certainly got what they came for! Scoring epic waves, catching some solid fish, sinking a heap of beers and chilling out in some perfect Mentawai Island weather. The trip kicked off up in the playgrounds area where we found some perfect uncrowded waves at a little known break. It was hard to leave that first spot though with the swell dropping we eventually headed south managing to avoid the crowds and getting a few great sessions by ourselves at Nipussi and 4 bobs. The waves continued to come non-stop with us continuing south and getting awesome waves at Telescopes and Lances Left. After an early surf at Lances Left we left for Sikakap and had an epic day of fishing, drinking and exploring a local village where the boys got caught up in a game with the locals thats a cross between soccer and volleyball. The boys were stoked to hook up on a few solid wahoo which the chef promptly turned into sashimi. We timed our stop at Maccas to coincide with a new swell and it was great to see all the boys pushing their limits with some solid 6ft bombs running down the reef. The trip finished off with a few magic sessions at Bintangs and Lances Left. The last day was a classic 4ft picture postcard day at Lances Left though with the boys all so surfed out they found it hard to leave their seats on the back deck soaking up the perfection and capping the trip off with a few Bintangs.
