Trip summary/wrap up! Since Wednesday morning I have: Gotten my kids off to school & left my apartment (ex) mother in-law ready to take care of my boys, dropped my car at Shanes and caught a ride to BNA from the always awesome Daniele, flown to Baltimore, driven into VA. with Shane & his precious kiddos, spent an evening and morning with my principal and confirmation sponsor from my Catholic school growing up years, navigated Dulles airport to rent a car, gone to my old house (and imagined my brother and me playing in the street, and my Dad in the yard, and my Mom cooking dinner - so many memories) and my old high school, with Shane, along with his old house and high school (same school), spent quality time with Shels sweet kids, seen Shane play and met some of his (super nice!) friends here, navigated this crazy area without getting lost, marveled at the gorgeousness of downtown DC, pined away for areas I want to go back to and just dont have time to see on this trip, recognized 1,000 road names from my childhood, crossed over the train tracks and creek where I played as a kid for countless hours, had a humongous black cat stare me down in my sleep, gotten tons of hugs from an adorable 5 year old, been horrified at $5+ tolls, driven to Richmond out of the maze of neverending loops and lanes and roads and traffic of NoVa., had a GREAT lunch with Stace (there were tears; we go waaaaaay back), knocked out 5 portrait sessions, and had a really wonderful dinner with Lori, who I love dearly ~ driven back to & through DC without getting lost (!!!!!!!), and am currently waiting for Shane to be done with his gig. Tomorrow, we drive home. I love love love this area. I always will and I will be back, for sure. There are pieces of my heart, here. But, Nashville HAS my heart. I do really love where I live. :) Phew.
