Troop L - NEWS RELEASE April 24, 2014 I-12 Traffic Stop Leads to a Possession of Cocaine Arrest Hammond - This morning at approximately 6:00 AM a trooper assigned to Troop L stopped a black 2014 Ford Taurus for a traffic violation on I-12 eastbound near Hammond in Tangipahoa Parish. The stop led to the discovery and seizure of approximately one and a half pounds of powdered cocaine. The driver, Clarence F. Drew (B/M 39) of Knoxville, TN appeared noticeably nervous during the stop. Drew would not give troopers consent to search the Ford. A LSP K-9 was requested and alerted to the vehicle. A subsequent manual search by troopers revealed 1.4 pounds of powdered cocaine. Drew was arrested for a traffic violation and possession with intent to distribute cocaine and booked at the Tangipahoa Parish Jail in Amite.
