Tropical Storm Gorio (Bagyong Gorio) is expected to make landfall in Eastern Samar Saturday morning, state weather bureau PAGASA reported. Bagyong Gorio Tropical Storm Gorio At 5am Saturday, June 29, 2013, the center of Bagyong Gorio was spotted at 100 kilometers East of Borongan City with maximum winds of 65 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph. It is forecast to move Northwest at 15 kph. Areas Having Public Storm Warning Signal Signal No. 2 (61-100 kph winds) Catanduanes Camarines Sur Albay Sorsogon Masbate Burias Ticao Island Samar Provinces Biliran Leyte Signal No. 1 (45-60 kph winds) Camarines Norte Quezon Polillo Island Marinduque Oriental Mindoro Romblon Batangas Laguna Cavite Rizal Bulacan Metro Manila Aklan Capiz Northeastern Iloilo Bantayan Island Camotes Island Southern Leyte Dinagat Province Siargao Island Weather experts said the estimated rainfall amount is from 5 to 15 millimeters per hour (moderate to heavy) within the 300-km diameter of Bagyong Gorio. PAGASA advised residents living in low lying and mountainous areas under signals 2 and 1 to be alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides. Those living in coastal areas have also been warned of big waves or storm surges.
