Tropical Storm VINTA Tropical Cyclone PAGASA Track as of 2 p.m., 30 October 2013 Weather Bulletin Number SEVEN Tropical Cyclone Warning: Tropical Storm VINTA (KROSA) Issued at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, 30 October 2013 VINTA has slightly intensified as it moves towards extreme Northern Luzon. Location of Center: (as of 4:00 p.m.) 610 km East of Ilagan, Isabela or 645 km East of Tuguegarao City Coordinates: 17.4°N, 128.3°E Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 85 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 100 kph Movement: Forecast to move West Northwest at 23 kph Forecast Positions/Outlook: Thursday afternoon: 130 km East of Tuguegarao City Friday afternoon: Outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) 300 km West of Laoag City Areas Having Public Storm Warning Signal PSWS # Luzon Signal No. 2 (winds of >60 to 100 kph may be expected in at least 24 hours) Cagayan Calayan Group of Island Babuyan Group of Island Isabela Kalinga Apayao Signal No. 1 (30-60 kph winds may be expected in at least 36 hours) Ilocos Norte Mt. Province Abra Ilocos Sur La Union Benguet Ifugao Nueva Vizcaya Quirino Aurora Pangasinan Nueva Ecija Batanes Group of Islands Estimated rainfall amount is from 5.0 - 15.0 mm per hour (moderate - heavy) within the 500 km diameter of the Tropical Storm. Areas under Public Storm Warning Signal #2 and #1 are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides. Moreover, coastal areas under Public Storm Warning Signal #2 are alerted against possible storm surges. Sea travel is risky over the northern and eastern seaboards of Luzon. The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 11 PM today.
