Its the atmospherics of The Edges guitar and keyboard parts that give U2s music its anthemic power and drama, and how can you fault him for simply playing the notes necessary to deliver that impact. Why should the parts be more complex? Would it make the songs better? Would it make the band more popular? Still, it makes for a good comedy bit.
