True Life Adventures of a Romance Author: In Aruba, this happened this evening: Hot Cop: Want to go for a walk on the beach before dinner? Me: Sure. Let me get my phone. Hot Cop: Why do you need your phone? Me: To see where we are. Hot Cop: We dont need to know that. Just leave it. Me: But I use it to tell time. Hot Cop: Were on vacation. We dont need to know the time. Me: But I might want to take a picture! Hot Cop: Were going to be walking in the surf, so youre going to get splashed, and then youll want me to put the phone in my shirt pocket to keep it dry, so you wont use it. Lets just leave the phone here. Me: Well... Ok. Its good to be unplugged. Hot Cop: Good! Lets go. We leave and walk on the beach. I dont know how far, and I cant say how long we were out, either. I saw tons of beautiful things that made me wish I could take a picture, but we finally stopped to watch the sunset. The sun was a gleaming yellow in a deep purple sky over an azure sea. It was just beautiful. As we watched, Hot Cop said, We should take a picture of that. Then he frowned and said, I wonder what time it is? We dont want to be late for dinner. He looked around. How long do you think it will take us to get back? ARGH!
