True Story: In 1978 Batmans lead Comic Book line titled Detective Comics (The series where he was born in issue #27) was almost cancelled by DC Comics in favor of the more popular comic book line The Batman Family. It was almost canned until someone at DC Comics pointed out that it would be really silly to cancel Detective Comics which DC stands for. They reversed the cancelation and essentially Batman Family became named Detective Comics with Detective Comics issue numbering. Eventually it would return to its original intent in the 1980s a year or two before Frank Millers Reboot.
