True in a perfect world maybe! I am not criticizing you because that IS how we should be to our spouses to everyone involved in your life! Its having manners, being polite! But in marriage, especially one that is not going so well there is these things called emotions that get in the way! That is precisely why passion is used in describingLOVE! And when there is anger and pain involved passion turns on quickly! I am now going through a divorce from my 1st and only husband after 17 years and 7 children oldest being 23 to youngest 10! I didnt ever want this! It hurts soo bad and is emotionally draining but I also have really tried hard to make my marriage work and Im not saying that I havent done anything wrong or contributed because of course I have, it takes two! But I havent ever betrayed my marriage vows! I have taken him back time after time just to be hurt again and again! I am not the woman, mom, friend, ME that I used to be and I am not going to be anyone at all if I dont stand up for myself, cause I deserve it, and follow through with this divorce! I have allowed my children to be IN my marriage which has done damage to their views on how relationships are truly supposed to be! I see the sadness and fear in their eyes when we argue, cry, disrespect each other and I am not going to do that to them anymore! The guilt I feel over all of this is enormous! Its going to be different from now on because Iam going to be different, even if he isnt! ! There has to be compromise on both sides and we are a family AL WAYS AND FOREVER!!! I do love my husband very much and always will but I need to show my love to myself and my kids now and always should have been doing this but definitely was not! I felt of no value, unworthy of his love, broken and it just made it easier and easier for him to actually have those same views of me too! We should be kinder, more tolerant, appreciative and follow the 5 things you dont do in a marriage but we also have to know when enough is enough, and remember if only 1 person is doing these things, and the other isnt, THAT IS ENOUGH! !!!!!
