True story: For chemotherapy, many people get a port put in. I got one too. The surgery is done under Twilight anesthesia, which is supposed to make you sleep but able to hear, but not respond to the doctor. I was in the Operating Room and unable to open my eyes or move, but I could hear the nurses talking & joking around as they prepped everything. They were teasing a female nurse about being a Cougar. I thought it was funny and I said, Hey, hey, there is nothing wrong with being a Cougar! I am 36, leave her alone! I think you are not supposed to be able to speak with Twilight anesthesia. Because the room became suddenly silent for a minute, and, after their shock wore off, she laughed & thanked me, and the guys started laughing too. I think next time theyll be sure the patient isnt nervously aware & responsive again! I remembered this story since I promised some friends a funny story today and thought I would share.
