True story .... I was called by a German recruiter a couple of weeks ago and she explained that there was a fantastic job waiting for me. After the usual 20-30 minute barrage of questions she agreed that I was indeed the right man for the job. THEN.... came the final question. We need someone who is fluent in English, you are English aren´t you? She asked. I replied, actually I am Scottish. She then stuttered and very carefully asked me IF I could speak ENGLISH !!!!!!! -------This REALLY HAPPENED !!!!!---------- I explained to her that Scotland is part of the British Isles otherwise known as the United Kingdom or Great Britain and that I am a subject of her Majesty the Queen The recruiter told me that she would have to talk to her boss and that the company would get back to me .....
