Trust in Him at all times. Psalm 62:8 Faith is as much the rule of temporal life as it is of spiritual life. We ought to have faith in God for our earthly matters as well as our heavenly concerns. It is only as we learn to trust in God to supply all our daily needs that we will live about the world. We are not be idle, for that would show that we do not trust in God, who continually works, but in the devil, who is the father of idleness. We are not to be imprudent or rash, for that would be to trust chance rather than the living God, who is a God of economy and order. Acting in all prudence and uprightness, we are to rely simply and entirely on the Lord at all times. Let me commend to you a life of trusting in God in temporal things. By trusting in God, you will not have to repent for having used sinful means to grow rich. Serve God with integrity. If you achieve no success, at least no sin will be on your conscience. By trusting in God, you will not become guilty of self-contradiction. He who trust only in his own abilities sails this way today and that way the next, like a boat tossed about by the fickle wind. However, he who trust in the Lord is like a steamship, which cuts through the waves, defies the wind, and makes one bright, silvery, straightforward track to her desired haven. Be someone who has living principles within him. Never yield to the varying practices of worldly wisdom. Walk in the path of integrity with determined steps, and show that you are invincibly strong in the strength that confidence in God alone can provide. Thus you will be delivered from burdensome care. You will not be troubled by bad news. Your heart will be steadfast, trusting in the LORD ( Ps. 112:7 ) How pleasant it is to float along the stream of providence! There is no more blessed way of living than living a life of dependence upon a covenant-keeping God. We have no cares, for he careth for [ us ] (1 Pet. 5:7).
