Truth behind mid day meals in India : As per the Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) 2012, 96.5% of all rural children between the ages of 6-14 were enrolled in school. 83% of all rural 15-16 year olds were enrolled in school.Indian Budget 2013-14 for Mid day Meal - 13,250 Crore INR. Now, Going by the reports and simply extrapolating if 50% enrollments are fake.This amounts to a potential waste of 6625 Crore INR - loss of Tax payer money. Mid-day meals samples are found to have 1/4 actual nutrition. 98% of delhi schools failed the test. means Actual utilization of money is 1/8 th i.e. approx 1000 cr only. No wonder the Kids are victims in the whole game .Now you know,why ??
