Truth is, its harder sometimes to love those we love. I mean, love aint just a word. It aint an emotion either. Its something else. Its harder to love those you love than those you dont. I mean, the ones we say we love. The ones we give words, and emotions to. But love, its not just a word or an emotion. You know? Its something else. Because... you could spend hours waiting for a business partner or someone you just met, and maybe someone you like. No big deal. But let your wife be late ten freaking minutes. Youre mad as heck. Sometimes we even drive away. Let like a stranger pass a comment at you. Something you dont like. Call you fat. Call you ugly. Call you whatever. Maybe youll laugh it off. Maybe by tomorrow its forgotten. But let your husband make such a comment, and theyll be hell to pay. A person can say something innocent even, a random person, and nothing is twisted... what they said is what they said. But a loved one says the exact same thing, God help us, the thing is twisted like a Kieth Sweat song. Those words youve probably heard Are you trying to say... But we love these people. We say we do. But love is not an emotion, its not just words. Its something else. Its patience. Its waiting for your lover as long as it takes. Its forgiveness, and forgetting a slight or sin, its believing the best and seeing the best in your loved one, and not twisting their words to imply what was never implied. I dont know, it just seems that sometimes, we dont love those we love.
