Trying to understand all this! Why do we have to accept this health care it affects all working and retired and then the trickle down effect to all other workers in Michigan. How can we let Orr continue to tell the public that the pension shortfall is 3.5 billion. He fails to tell them that is over 20 years. That is 175 million a year. How much of that is actually for the police and fire department a year. We are almost fully funded. We have 3000 police and about 800 fire so how much do they put in a year for the working few that they feel the need to cut our pensions and our health care. They are privatizing the trash. Laying of 700 water workers so is it really 175 billion a year. Certainly not he just wants our money. Looks like we are just gonna lay down and take it. How can we allow this!!!! We have to stand up for what we worked for. But the working few have no guts since the unions were handed to them and they have no idea how to maintain them. Unfortunately I think we need to separate the two pensions and speak for ourselves we were not getting 13 checks like they were so why are we paying the price. So now we are lumped together in health care, who decided that and do we have to accept it. I understand that there is a retirees meeting this coming week on the west side I believe I will be in attendance to find out who screwed us. Does the DPOA or LSA have anything to say or are they silent as usual!!!!!
