Tuesday (Chooseday) was an amazing day spent teaching with John Hulme about using the natural environment in a therapeutic setting, we practiced pranayama (breathing techniques) then our participants went off on their own to have some time in nature alone, we shared the experience and spoke about connection to the self, each other and to nature. This led us into a heart circle speaking and listening to each other speak about inspirations of working in the outdoors, barriers and concerns and how we would most like to see our society connect with nature. We then did some yoga. After the training me and john stayed, cooked veggie sausage and had herbal tea on the fire and litter picked the woods (the ones id previously mentioned being in a proper mess). we collected 5 bags, of cans, bottles, burnt deckchairs, tents, underpants, junk food wrappers etc... and lots of beautiful feathers were all around the woods, it gave us a nice time to reflect upon how humans connect to the natural areas. We then met two groups of young people, one having a spliff, the others having a massive fire and had a nice chat , they noticed that wed litter picked and one group admitted maybe some of it was theirs. They said it looked better and i think we might have got them to see that keeping the area they use nice was better for all :) . what a good day! anyways this video is definately worth a watch it had a powerful message and then a trip to your local wildspace is worth it ... no need to go far away to see the magic of the natural world
