Tuesday December 9, 2014 The Second Week of Advent Flourishing with Joy Read Psalm 72:18-19 One hallmark of this Advent season, for sure, is excitement. Children get very excited, and the excitement becomes contagious. As Christmas draws closer, there is a flurry of activity. This flurry can well burst into flourishes of joy, like in the Hallelujah Chorus - even in shopping malls! There is a valid reason for this excitement: The Lord of Righteousness is to be born our Savior! We will be gifted with his righteousness. Proverbs 11:28 says, Those who trust in their riches will wither, but the righteous will flourish like green leaves. This is a cause for excitement , dont you think? Prayerfully speculate on what you can do with the righteousness of the Savior leading you. Perhaps it can inspire in you a flourish of forgiveness, a flourish of generosity or a flourish of helpfulness. Once your joyful flurry begins, whats to stop the joy of it? After all , it is the righteous love of God leading you. Todays Prayer: Lord, let my spirit be joyful that I might abound in thanks and praise as I serve you. Amen.
