Tuesday June 11, 2013, 9:40 PM Arlington Police Department (Texas) Advisory: Ongoing federal and state investigation targets officer misconduct Hi Linda Tucker, An Arlington police officer was arrested today by the FBI in connection with a continuing joint investigation involving federal and state authorities. Officer Thomas Kantzos, age 45 and a 17-year veteran, is currently being held in protective custody at the Tarrant County jail on federal charges of Fraud and Related Activity in Connection with Computers. He has been placed on administrative leave. Officer David Vo, age 35 and a 3-year police employee, was also being investigated as part of this case. He was arrested last weekend and released pending charges. Vo was on administrative leave. Today, he committed suicide in the 2400 block of Park Run Drive near his home. A third employee, Officer Craig Hermans, age 34 and a 3-year police employee, is being questioned in connection with the criminal investigation and has also been placed on administrative leave. This joint investigation involves the FBI and Department of Public Safety Texas Rangers. While we are deeply disturbed by the actions of these employees, the Arlington Police Department is fully committed to bringing all who break the law to justice. The actions of these individuals are in no way a reflection of the values of our agency and the dedication of the more than 800 men and women who faithfully serve the citizens of the Arlington community. When we learned of the criminal allegations against our employees, we actively cooperated with the federal and state investigation. “Criminal misconduct by our employees is intolerable as it damages the trust and confidence of those we serve,” said Arlington Police Chief Will D.
