Tuesday, March 25, 2014 Scripture lesson for today: Ephesians 2: 1-10 “As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.” “But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.” “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2: 1-2; 4-5; and 8-9 NIV Another gift that we many times take for granted is the gift of love that God has bestowed upon us. To think that, we as sinners were given God’s only Son to pay our sin debt is something that we should always keep forefront in our minds. Imagine the magnitude of that statement—“God for so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” (John3:16) Loved by God, saved by God’s grace, and given eternal life—oh what a gift that He has given us. And the beauty of this gift is that it is free, all we have to do is believe in Christ, seek the forgiveness of our sins and repent to God’s will. Prayer: Father God, Lover of our Souls, we give thanks for the agape, the unconditional love that you have for each of us. Show us the purpose that you have for us; help us be the one you created us to be. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
