Tuesday October 7th! The fire is growing; today there are a bunch of planetary aspects that point to this phenomenon as well as the Moon in the fire sign of Aries. The intensity has begun and really won’t let up for most of the month and after a few days in the anesthesia that the Pisces Moon can often bring, we are thrust into the impulsive, pushy energy of the Moon in Aries at around 3:00am last night. That means most of you in the States and overseas are going to feel this shift as a bit of a jolt early in the day (in fact some of you in the states may have been woken up very early this morning). For those of you down under, the Moon enters Aries Tuesday night at 9:00pm and you folk may have trouble falling asleep tonight! Whether your sleep is actually interrupted or not, suffice to say that we are all going to feel the shift as we move toward the Full Moon tomorrow. It starts when the Moon enters Aries and the game is on! Mars is in a process of continuing to build to the Grand Fire Trine with Jupiter and Uranus that peaks on the same day as the eclipse. In fact, Uranus is so close to the eclipse point itself, it is participating in it directly. In astrology, there is something known as the orb of influence which says that as long as a connection is within a certain number of degrees from being exact, it is considered to be powerful. A standard orb of influence can be as wide as 8 degrees. In this case, The Moon at the point of its exact fullness is only ½ a degree away from Uranus. That puts The Great Awakener smack dab in the middle of all the action right now. Let’s break this down so you can understand what this means in layman’s terms. Let’s start by talking about the Grand Fire Trine first to get the lay of the land. Fire is the element that relates most to transformation, passion and expression. When fire is present in a prominent way, there is great change in the air. A Grand Trine means that three planets are dividing the heavens into three equal parts, which is the geometry of harmony and flow. If you think of an aspect like a conversation, a Grand Trine is like three folks singing in perfect three part harmony – we get the richness of all three voices plus a fourth overtone of the sound they are making together. And what they are signing about is change, change, change! In this case we have Mars, the archetype of the physical body and the principle of embodiment interacting with Jupiter, the archetype of abundance and expansion and Uranus whom I have already mentioned as the Great Awakener. This pattern along would be enough to bring about a great deal of change and expansion that happens in very sudden and unexpected ways (courtesy of the Uranian lightning flashes). The connection to the Total Lunar Eclipse takes this notion and increases it exponentially. Any Full Moon is an opportunity to harvest the benefit of previous work in the realm of expanding consciousness. An eclipse makes this even more prominent. Add such a powerful setup of planets such as this and the opportunity to have those changes show up in unexpected ways and sudden shifts is unprecedented. Some of you are going to find yourself in brand new territory at the drop of a hat this month, so be prepared to be flexible and have your seat belt fastened. So now you have the image in your mind of this triangle in the sky that has at one end of it the Full Moon less that one degree away from Uranus. Remember that because the Moon is full, the Sun is opposite this configuration creating what looks like a kite formation. That is exactly what such a shape is called in astrology because of its shape and the interpretation is literal – a kite creates an energy that flies. And with Uranus at the head of it, the potential to fly off into new landscapes very suddenly is completely possible with this eclipse. You will not finish this month anywhere near where you started it and the journey has already begun. Stay tuned.
