Tuesday to Sunday hard at work in Bergen, NO again, at the invitation of Hans Knut Sveen and the Grieg Academy. The main job is to fix up an old Hubbard French double (surprised to see another Hermann Kluge keyboard in there, though more true to style than the previous one I have seen) that was reworked in 1982 by Joel Katzman. Got a lot of heavy use since, and the keyboards were very wacky, coupler dogs hitting bare wood, too. Both manuals are working well now, with added chases and 80+ thin wedges to close up on excessive play. In the meantime another harp was brought in, a Couchet-modelby Thomas Power, if Icould do a few things on that one, too, please...? Some of the students asked if Id be willing to show them how to properly fit a string on, work on plectra etc. Looks like there has not been a harptech around here for a while, days are too short... I am already asked to come back early next year a d wil leave with a list..!
