Turned A Bridge Too Far off after an hour. Thats a movie that might be fun if it werent for seeing all the WW2 films made after it. Hell, the ones before it like The Dirty Dozen or Bridge on the River Kwai were better, too. Sick list of actors in that cast. Sean Connery, Michael Caine, Gene Hackman, Robert Redford, Anthony Hopkins, Laurence Olivier. But, I kinda thought that giant cast would... ya know, actually DO something. They kinda just stood there and read the lines. Too dry. And whose idea was it to cast Gene Hackman as a Pol? Lets cast Lee Marvin as a Frenchman while were at it. Clint Eastwood as an Australian, why doncha? The Thin Red Line utilized its similarly epic cast better. If it suddenly gets better after one hour... I dont care. Any movie that needs an hour to get going cant be that great. Got to the first big battle scene and thought... this is pretty weaksauce for the build up. Band of Brothers worst battle scene was more thrilling. Shame... I was looking forward to this one. :\
