Turning Japanese. Stressed-out from work, decided to declare - TopicsExpress

Turning Japanese. Stressed-out from work, decided to declare yesterday as my vacation-from-everybody-else day, my artist date day. Did not really plan to, but soaked myself in things Japanese. Treated myself to a bowl-as-big-as-a-basin of Osaka ramen with melt-in-your-mouth braised pork rib at Hanamaruken. And the essence of the word flavor was forever altered in my head. Went down to a relatively isolated part of the mall to loll on a reserved-for-seniors-tumba-tumba so I could lose myself in the marvels of several chapters of Murakamis 1Q84. Sarap. Then, went home to view -- no, to be awed by -- the first three hours of Masaki Kobayashis humanist epic The Human Condition. Ang sarap din. All so simple, yet so rich in nuance. Haay, the soulfulness of the Japanese. Going back to the world after each experience always came with a jolt. Pagod pa din ako. So, tuloy ang ligaya. Huwag niyo muna akong kausapin ha. Extended ang aking bakasyong Hapon. Hala, lalo na yatang naniningkit ang mga mata ko.
