“Turning our Differences into Strengths” Personality Profiles - TopicsExpress

“Turning our Differences into Strengths” Personality Profiles Workshop, September 2014 By Drew Callister The workshop started with a simple idea. Personalities, while all unique, can be grouped together based on what’s most important to each of us. Knowing a person’s personality can help us inform our decisions on how to interact and problem-solve with others. The faculty and staff of DET spent two days at the beginning of September learning about these four main categories of personalities, as defined by Florence Littauer’s “Personality Plus” test. We also learned how to use this information on a day-to-day basis, because the workshop tailored its insights to the workplace. That’s because the system originally comes from the world of American corporate management, and is structured on building teams and accomplishing tasks. Based on what we learned about the various ways these personalities combine and clash, these personality profiles taught us a new way to look at working in teams.
