Turning your back on the Mayor is the greatest sign of respect to the two officers assassinated. This is a Peaceful respectful way the Officers can protest and let our elected officials know that if they do not stand up for them they will be heard. It says to the world that we will not be two faced and or fake at their funerals. The Police Commissioner had to say what he said about not turning your backs because he works for the Mayor. He has to show his boss the Mayor that he stands on his side. Dont blame Bratton I do understand. Good for you NYPD for telling the world how you are not going to be told how to grieve or to be forced not to be able to express your disappointment with this Mayor.
