Turns out its a good thing I work from home 80% of the time. I woke up a bit groggy today, so I decided to head out to get myself a shitty coffee from the corner store. It crossed my mind to put on real pants, but I quickly pushed that thought out of my head, and headed there in sweat pants. While at the sugar/milk/stir stick thingy counter, a guy comes up beside me and starts to make his coffee as well. I grab a sugar at one end and start to shake it so that the sugar all goes to the bottom before I rip open the top. Seems Im stronger than I think I am because I shake it so hard it flings right into the garbage can hole in the middle of the counter. The guy and I both stare at the hole it went in. Then at each other. In a feeble last attempt to break the awkward ice, I tried to say Scored! but my getting-over-a-cold voice makes it come out as more of a creepy, squeaky, serial killer whisper. He looks at me with concern and confusion and grabs his coffee and walks away. I thought this was rude, so I mumbled and called him a profane word, which of course... he heard loud and clear as he turned around to give me the finger. I should have never left my walls of safety and solitude.
