The School aims to be recognised both nationally and internationally as a Centre of Excellence for Architectural teaching, learning and research. As a member of academic staff within the School this position will be responsible for teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate level as well as contributing to research, preferably in Environmental Science (building acoustics, thermal performance, material science, wind and ventilation studies), & Architectural Humanities (regional or territorial architectural histories and/or episodic histories of architecture). They will also be expected to contribute to the academic and administrative leadership of the School and University. About the Person: The successful applicant must have a professional degree in Architecture, recognisable for the purposes of the licensure process with AIA and should desirably possess a professional registration in Architecture or have prior experience in professional architectural practice in one or more jurisdictions. The candidate must have a PhD in a relevant territory of Architectural investigation and be a nationally recognised exemplar in the field of architecture, with leadership, management and team building skills and performance record, commensurate with level of appointment. They will have evidence of educational experience in contemporary teaching methods such as self-directed learning, small group learning and web-based learning. Applicants will also demonstrate the ability to supervise and mentor postgraduate students as well as a commitment to the ongoing success of the School and Institute.
