Two Wolverines rose out of districts to play in the state finals held Wednesday in Altamonte Springs. Junior Alejandro Hasagawa and freshman Danny Martinez, little brother of Belen tennis legend Rolando Martinez, were the dirstrict #1 doubles champs and therefore playing in the state indivuduals bracket. Tuesday night, bad luck struck in giving our pair a first round match up against a tough #1 seed from Melbourne. Then, rain delays forced the match to start after 2pm on Wednesday. Hasagawa and Martinez won their first set in a tiebreaker then lagged behind, losing the second set easily. It all came down to a 10 point tiebreaker to see who would advance. It see sawed back and forth but our boys came up just short losing 8-10. #GoWolverines
