Two beautiful dogs, not even a year old and scheduled to be destroyed were saved last weekend. This mission was made special by the company of Alissa & her father Keith who came along for the flight to assist with the puppies being transported. Alissa is a special friend of FlyPups, you may remember the FB post from September when Alissa baked and sold 500 dog biscuits & 300 cat crackers to raise money for two nonprofits, RBARI & FlyPups. Her efforts and generous donation are both greatly appreciated! FlyPups flew the second of three legs to bring these two beautiful puppies from NC to their forever home Canada. Fortunately very special friends Shandiss & Jordan had provided me lessons on Canadian/English and I was able to share this knowledge with the pups, Ricky & Emily, to help make their transition a little easier. In Canada, I explained that “A” is not only the first letter of the alphabet, but also a question. Additionally Surrey is both a beautiful city in British Columbia as well is an apology. I explained that the Canadian’s being an extremely polite people will not be teaching the pups ‘Commands’, but rather ‘Requests’. And finally, I did my best to explain that instead of lush green NC grass beneath their paws, they can expect snow and ice to cover the ground eleven-and-a-half months of the year. FlyPups wishes Ricky & Emily the very best and thanks Susan for putting this rescue together, Mark for flying the other leg, Molly for helping out, and Jill for ground support. It takes a village...
