Two cents on the Investigation Discovery thing. I saw it. In my opinion it made the friendship angle way closer than it was in real life. The conclusions they draw are just off base. In the real world and what really happened, the overwhelming driving factor was Francisco had a crush, and Chloe turned his unwanted advances down, and there were elements in his background and mind that led to him handling that horribly, and elements in Chloes background and mind that kept her from just walking away. She didnt like to disappoint people, although from reading the confession you could tell she was uncomfortable. For what its worth, Chloes mother told me that Chloe DID tell HER that Francisco told CHLOE that he was gay. Im taking it with a grain of salt since I get that after three hops of the whisper game. But even IF it is true, it still isnt a hinge point of the real story of 7/15/2010. To me, if youre gonna open up this can of worms, we might as well look into what made Francisco tick, and they didnt go there. Massive omission, like whats the point if we skip the real scoop? And for what its worth there were lots of other random little details the show didnt go into that made quite a bit of difference on THAT day. I believe they were aiming to follow a pre-determined frenemies formula more so than getting to the bottom of the real story. But some of Chloes friends were providing the talking points that ID was going for, so thats that. But all in all, it could have been a LOT worse. With that said, theres no such thing as bad publicity for media. The more outrage there is AGAINST the show, the more people will search it out to judge for themselves. Just human nature. I left a message for Discovery Communications Viewer Relations to call me back about vetting their programs for accuracy, but I havent heard back. Im sending another message, but Im not going to dedicate forty hours of my life to breaking through that wall. Id rather accomplish ANYTHING at all in Chloes memory. I think its pretty safe to say I question ANY Investigation Discovery show when it comes to really getting the true picture of what really happened. Easy to throw together half an hour of tv which is fairly factually accurate, but really has not much to do with anything other than re-telling the parts of the story everybody already knows. If you really want to talk to the person who pulled this together, her name is Missy Green, and she works for a company called Atlas Media Corp.
