Two dogs that didnt survive the living conditions at Olympic Animal Sanctuary. To the dogs that have died, Rest in Peace. To those still enduring life inside the sanctuary, we wont stop until you are safely rescued. It is our understanding, that one year ago today, Police Administrator, Rick Bart, was presented with photographic evidence of the neglect and horrific conditions the dogs are living in at Olympic Animal Sanctuary. An investigation by the Forks police followed and documented the same findings -- dogs underweight, filthy conditions, dogs living in crates, dirty or no water being provided, dogs needing medical attention and too many dogs. And this was after the Clallam County Animal Control Deputy, Tracey Kellas, gave Steve Markwell advance notice that there had been a complaint. The city chose to turn its back on the dogs stuffed inside the metal building that has no heat or cooling. And a year later, Forks City Authorities still have done nothing. Wait -- thats not true. City Attorney, Rod Fleck and Rick Bart have lied repeatedly in print about the conditions, the police investigation and what was found, and theyve lied about the ages of the photographs. Their lies and, in all appearances, attempts to cover up the situation, have been ongoing. Byron Monohan has made statements, almost verbatim, to Steve Markwells words and also claims theres not enough evidence to issue a warrant. Forks City Authorities, instead of upholding the laws, have instead, allowed the dogs to continue to suffer. Theyve not done well checks on the dogs or nor have they made sure no more dogs were being brought in (Like puppies needing bottle-fed.) Oh, and the lie being story being circulated now -- that theres no place for all of the dogs to go, is just another tiresome excuse. Animal Rescue Corps has offered to take financial and physical responsibility of the dogs a year ago. Our question is, how many more dogs have died due to neglect and because Forks City officials have refused to do their jobs? How many more will die because Forks, Clallam County and Washington State Elected officials are ignoring the suffering of the dogs?
