Two for one this Saturday! I cant say enough about how much I enjoyed Lena Finkles Magic Barrel. Her use of visual metaphors playing against textual narrative is surprisingly masterful for a first graphic novel. The way it sometimes bursts into long passages of solo text was remniscent of Lynda Barry - never a bad thing. Plus, its laugh-out-loud funny. You know the routine. Its on the shelves. Sit, read, drink.
