Two hours until the Opening Ceremonies are aired here. I still havent decided if Im watching or not. Many of these athletes will accomplish amazing things and who doesnt want to see all these great opening ceremony costumes (Norway crazy pants!) As appalling as Russias anti-LGBT laws are and as much as theyve done to allow for gays to be beaten and villified with the governments tacit approval (is it any worse in parts of the USA?) its really the IOC which deserves our condemnation for their refusal to stand by their own motto and to champion basic human rights. If you arent aware, Russia has anti-LGBT propoganda laws that allow you to be jailed for things like waving the gay flag because it indoctrinates children. Im thankful for all the USA delegates whove spoken up about LGBT abuses in Russia (Billy Jean King, Andy Roddick, etc) and for all the sponsors, like AT&T and Devry University, whove condemned Russias stance as well. principle6.org/ So, everyone enjoy the Olympics (copyright violation?) but if you can, take the time over the next few weeks to let the IOC know that they chose the multi-colored Olympic rings for a reason and they should stand by their own bylaws which means standing up for basic human rights, including LGBT rights, in their host countries. msn.foxsports/olympics/story/IOC-President-Thomas-Bach-slams-politicians-over-Sochi-Olympics-020414
