Two men lay in hospital one completely crippled lay in bed some ten feet away lay a man by a window the crippled man could not move at all. Everyday the man by the window would sit up and look out the window for an hour the crippled man asked him to describe it for him so the man by the window told the crippled man about outside the ducks the swans the children playing young couples walking past holding hands the bands out playing and although the crippled man could not hear he began to imagine everything the man by the window said so vividly in his mind could see put faces to what he imagined after months of this he woke up one day to find the man by the window was dead grief struck he asked the nurse to move him over too the window so he could see the world the man described too him he helped himself up on his elbow weakly sat up stared out the window seen nothing but walls he asked the nurse where was all the beautiful things his friend told him the nurse replied the man who died here was blind he never saw anything.. Long read but worth it if you can understand the meaning.
