Two murders, the rape of a minor, an armed robbery and illegal import of wildlife were among the crimes reported to police over the weekend. The 25-year-old Diana Kaputjaza was strangled to death at Otjongombe village at Aminuis in the Omaheke region, while Julius Nyambali died after he was stabbed in the chest at Okahandja in the Otjozondjupa region. Three people were arrested at Ariamsvlei in the //Karas region after they had allegedly illegally imported 16 springbucks, of which four died. In the Oshana region, a 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 31-year-old relative at Onyamangunda village, while an armed robbery of items worth close to six-thousand dollars from an Indian couple was reported at Ondangwa. A South African national, who allegedly entered Namibia without proper documents, was also arrested at Gobabis on a charge of contravening the Immigration Control Act. The Khomas region reported a concealment of birth in Katutura and a suspected suicide near Goreangab Dam. A suspected unnatural death was reported at Opuwo in the Kunene region, stock theft at Ogongo in the Okahao District of Omusati region and a drowning at Omuloka village near Oshikango in Ohangwena region.
