Two recent picture posts Nov. 12 & 20 courtesy of Barbara Shananan Boxall showing Barries Dunlop/Eccles Street Arena c. 1920 & 1935 posed a problem that I couldnt figure out until now. The problem as I see it is that the old Arena c.1920 was located on the same street as the c.1935 New Arena photo but the orientation seemed wrong? I took both of the pictures and Identified what was the same in both and came to the conclusion that the c.1935 photo is Mirrored incorrectly. In other words its facing the wrong way to support the logical location with the front of the New Arena on Dunlop. The other thing that was throwing me was that the Old Arena pictured was positioned at right angles to Eccles Street the constant indisputable factor in both pictures. Ive put together a composite picture of the two images and attached notes on each showing the points Ive mentioned. See if it doesnt make sense to you. Damn thing drove me to distraction for hours.
