Two separate cases have been filed in Jamalpur and Noakhali against Posts and Telecommunications Minister Abdul Latif Siddique for hurting the religious sentiments of the people with his recent comments on Hajj. In Jamalapur, one Sheikh Salimullah of Madarganj upazila filed the case with Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Thursday afternoon. The court has set October 23 for hearing of the case. In Noakhali, Advocate Nasir Bhuyan and also vice president of Noakhali Bar Association filed the case with Judicial Magistrate court Judicial Magistrate Md. Jahir uddin asked Latif to appear before the court on 11th December. Earlier, eight separate cases against the minister were filed in Dhaka, Sylhet , Barisal and Chittagong on Wednesday. On Sunday, Siddique made comments on hajj while addressing a reception arranged by the Tangail expatriates in New York, USA.
