Two things Ive forced myself to learn this week: 1) Love and stronger than hate - outhating someone only means that youre both obliterating yourselves internally. So, the real challenge to your spirit is to see if you can outlove someone who hates you. If you succeed, you both win in the end. Like gallons of water being sprayed onto a small fire, hate cant live in a room filled with love. 2) I really dont enjoy fighting other black people. Even when I fought with Lil Waynes people last year over his lyrics, my stomach turned over the idea of fighting my own brother when we should be battling side-by-side. The real enemy is white supremacy and the conditions which lead to mass incarceration, poverty, violence, inadequate educational systems and chronic black unemployment. Thats where all of our resources need to be spent, not on trying to attack one another.
