Two things that I really enjoyed in life, playing music professionally and driving demolition derby, ended for me a couple of years ago. Its really hard to just watch it and not participate. While I was flagging the derby this weekend, I was approached by many young folks that came up to just say Hi. Many of the kids that watched me run for years have become drivers and now their kids are. They always treat me so well and remind me of things that once were. Ive had several musicians over the years thank me for the chance I gave them to play professionally. I never gave all these young people anything other than honesty, encouragement, and a smile. They continue to always make me feel blessed for just sharing a small piece of my life with them. Always be kind to children...theyll remember you for it. I may die one day without anything of material value, BUT I will have a full heart of blessings and gratitude for those that shared my journey.
