Two tornados confirmed in the area from last night and this - TopicsExpress

Two tornados confirmed in the area from last night and this morning. An EF1, and an EF0. What the heck is an EF0? A stiff breeze? Anyway, the Atlanta region is claiming two. Here is what I struggle with the most. We get very highly saturated news coverage of every weather event. I little tiny bit of rain and its flash flood warnings. I big rain and its look for the ark! Throw in some cold temps and they use phrases like snowmegedan.... and during the coverage of this mornings storm the displayed highly detailed radar images that they claim can detect rotation within a storm cell. It does this by measuring relative winds speeds and compares the speeed of wind moving away from the radar, the speed of wind moving toward radar, and the speed of the moving storm. They make hyper accurate predictions of when individual storm cells will reach an area, and when they say 9 minutes away from Woodstock you can make book on that. So why is it then, that tornado warnings can be issued based on that data, but tornadoes are never confirmed until the next day?
