Two unidentified men are wanted for robbing several grocery stores in the Pacific Northwest, mainly Oregon and Washington. As a result, theyve been dubbed the Grocery Robbers. They are suspected of stealing over $1.5 million from several stores between 1987 and 1992. Police believe they visit their targeted stores several times before the robbery, posing as customers and getting to know the layout of the grocery stores, as well as the names of various employees and their routines. They then wait until closing time before striking, taking remaining employees at gunpoint and tying them up in the storage room. One of the robbers would put packages of hamburger buns under the employees heads as they lay tied on the ground and/or would cover them with a jacket if they were cold. Although they havent robbed any grocery stores in the Pacific Northwest since 1992, police believe that they may strike again and may have moved their operation a different part of the country. The two Grocery Robbers remain unidentified and uncaptured over a quarter of a century later.
