Two weeks ago Brians PEG tube messed up Kept getting clogged and end was messed up!! So he went to Peninsula Hosp. Salisbury and they put a new one in. He got home and realized how short it was plus stopper on end would not stay shut!! It was leaking every where. We call them and they said if not happy come back!! He drove back and they said couldnt do anything & didnt even offer to fix end somehow!! Then he went to University MD. After stopping to have friend in Glen Burnie to drive him rest of way!! They said they couldnt do anything but they did give him a red clamp to put from belly to cutoff valve which the other hosp. told him couldnt do!!!!! WAIT a minute they can do liver, heart and kidney transplants. Open heart surgery and all kind of other procedures but cant put in a longer feed tube that doesnt leak!!! What is wrong with this picture??? Well this was 3 days of having to tape up end when I made appoint with gastro. guy who comes to Crisfield Hosp. Not only was the guy rude he keep telling Brian he didnt need a longer one!! He said other active people have short one!! Brian feeds by gravity as he puts on a pole to pour into it!! He then proceeded to put head in door and told him not to tape it! Then he said you need to leave I have other patience and need this room!! Is that kicking out or what?? So by Thurs. he has appt. with ENT and he spoke to Gasto Dr. that put original and one in Dec. in we finally got results new long one put in Friday @ AAMC where I guess we should have gone there first!!! Thank you AAMC Endoscopy Their wonderful care and concern meant a lot to us. That tube is his LIFE LINE as he still can not eat!!
