Two years ago I would have undoubtedly wish that my daughter will be like her. But of course this is now ABSURD. In this article, the writer provides you the definition of perfect beauty explicitly and implicitly. First the writer says that this little girl is incredibly beautiful because of her angelic appearance and stunning azure blue eyes. That is the explicit part. Now the implicit part. The writer wants you, the reader, to think that for your daughter to be considered incredibly beautiful she has to be white, with long, straight, blonde hair, blue eyes, puffy lips, and have a porcelain white skin. Um, EXCUSE ME, but NO! No one can define a perfect beauty as it is a social construct. This little girl is photogenic and have genes that made her look like that. But she is not different to other kids. She merely had the chance to be exposed to this kind of journey. If all little ones had the same chance then the writer here will be scrambling around to define beauty. The fact is beauty depends on how you appreciate what you have and your surroundings. It is also subjective. One might say that Well, this guy is just voicing his opinion and he has the right to do it! Well of course he has the right to voice his opinion.
