Two years ago, Marietta and i went to visit her son in Dallas....and the STORY OF UNREALITY HAPPENED. We left South Bend for Dallas. We had a planned stop in Brinkley, Arkansas to see an old friend. After the visit we stopped to get some needed supplys at the Wal Mart.. Upon fishing our shopping, we asked the Greeter where was a good place to eat that wasnt to far out of the way. She suggested a Mexican Restaurant located in a strip mall by the freeway junction. So we went there. About this same time as us leaving South Bend---a couple from Hideaway Texas were going to see their brand new grand daughter in Lexington, Kentucky. They also were looking for a place to eat and saw a sign on the freeway advertizing the Mexican Restaurant and pulled in about 3 minutes after we did. Marietta and were getting ready to order our food but I needed my reading glasses from the car. As I got up this couple walked in. the lady was carrying a Road Atlas. As I stood up I told Marietta to see two other people traveling. When i got back from the car, they were standing by our table talking with Marietta. The woman noticed my ND logo on my shirt and asked if we were fans of Notre Dame.. We told her we were not only fans, but worded there. She asked if she could hug me and started crying and shaking. Her husband said she was the biggest Notre Dame fan ever and recounted how they went to Oklahoma for the ND game. He said he missed the whole first quarter because all she did was stand and cry for the sheer thrill of seeing Notre Dame in person for the first time.. We talked for several minutes and then we asked if they had ever been to Notre Dame. THEY SAID NO! We invited them to stay with us this pas weekend and attended the Notre Dame/ Louisville game. What a great friendship. COINCIDENCE---DONS Birth Day AND MINE ARE THE SAME- WE WERE IN THE SAME REGIMENT AND COMPANY IN THE MARINES OUR WEDDING ANNIVERSARYS ARE TWO DAYS APART. What a great life changing experience. Don and Conniejean are a fantastic couple. WE HAD A FABULOUS TIME. TO THEM---THANK YOU FOR THE EXPERIENCE.
