U.S. embassies and consulates will lead international recruitment efforts to get English teachers around the world registered for an online course, Shaping the way we teach English, designed by the University of Oregon. The State Departments Bureau of Educational & Cultural Affairs will pay to launch the class. The bureau aims to open economic opportunities for international partners in science, business, technology, and higher education -- and to promote greater communication, understanding and cooperation.
